Since February 2010, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Revival Regional Foundation of Historical and Cultural Monuments of Tatarstan, with the assistance of which, a large-scale project on Revival of Historical Monuments of federal and regional significance, in particular the ancient city of Bolgar and the island town of Sviyazhsk was implemented in 2010-2019. In accordance with the Decree of Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov of November 4, 2015, the Bolgar Islamic Academy was constructed and the Cathedral of the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God is being reconstructed.
The Bolgar Historical and Archaeological Complex and the Dormition Cathedral and the monastery of the island-town of Sviyazhsk were inscribed into the UNESCO World Heritage List in 2014 and 2017 accordingly.

Since February 2019, the Revival Regional Foundation together with Tatarstan Ministry of Education and Science with the support of Russian Ministry of Education started the implementation of a project on the establishment of multilingual educational complexes.

He was awarded a diploma and the Russia-UNESCO commemorative medal for his personal contribution to cooperation between the Russian Federation and UNESCO (2010);
UNESCO Special envoy for intercultural dialogue (2017).

Member of the Council of Public Television of Russia. Member of the Russian Historical Society. Member of the Board of Trustees of the Russian Chess Federation.

Married with 2 sons: Airat Shaimiev and Radik Shaimiev, four grandsons and two great-grandsons. Wife – Sakina Shakirovna Shaimieva (1939-2018).
