Mintimer Shaimiev takes part in a solemn event dedicated to the Day of local self-government in Russia

On April 20, speaking at a solemn event dedicated to the Day of local self-government in Russia, held with participation of the State Counselor of the republic Mintimer Shaimiev, the Chairman of the local State Council Farid Mukhamteshin and the Chairman of the Association “The Council of Tatarstan Municipalities” Ekzam Gubaydullin, the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov said that not a single large scale task of the state level is solved without municipalities.

Congratulating the municipal community of the republic with its professional holiday, he reminded that at the first All-Russia Municipalities Forum the Russian President Vladimir Putin emphasized in his speech the special role of local-self-government as the public power most close to population. 

Having mentioned the issues municipalities are responsible for, Rustam Minnikhanov emphasized that under the conditions of the special military operation (SMO) municipalities carry out large work in supporting the military and their families and providing humanitarian aid to Lisichansk and Rubezhnoye. “Many of you regularly go the SMO zone, strengthening the military spirit of our soldiers. Thank you and representatives of the business communities and all people of Tatarstan for this active position,” he said. 

The Rais of the republic also thanked municipalities for their great contribution into organization of the Presidential election campaign and reminded about events to be hosted by the republic in the coming year. 

He emphasized that due to support from the federal center and Tatarstan’s own capacity many cities and regions of the republic successfully solve many issues of regional development and said one of priority tasks is further growth of efficiency of work of local self-government bodies.

In conclusion Rustam Minnikhanov said: “I want once again to congratulate you with your holiday and  thank you for your dedicated work,” and handed in a number of state awards.
